LET ME TELL YOU A LITTLE ABOUT ME

My name is Jean Thomson and I am an Independent Celebrant operating throughout the West of Scotland, although I will happily travel further afield if required.

I am blessed to be a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and live in the beautiful village of Rhu, Helensburgh.

Until my retirement in 2015 I was a Chief Executive of a Housing Association, a post I loved with a passion. Little did I know then, that six years on I would find myself retraining and finding my true vocation as an Independent Celebrant.

Ceremonies that I offer include Funerals, Memorials, Scattering of Ashes, Interments, Weddings, Civil Partnerships, vow renewals and Baby Namings..  It truly is an honour and a privilege to support families to create and conduct bespoke, meaningful, heartfelt ceremonies that reflect the wishes of, and meet the expectations of the family.

Under the Auspices of the Open Sanctuary I will be authorised by the Registrar General for Scotland to carry out Legal Weddings from September 2023. If you are looking for a ceremony that is relaxed, respectful, inclusive and original, you are in the right place. My role is to create a ceremony that is authentic and lovingly You. I’m ready and willing to start planning your perfect ceremony incorporating things that are meaningful to you and your significant other.
