Laura Gordon‘s biography
I’ve been a celebrant since 2012, and my journey with the funeral profession began long before that, back in 2002. With over two decades of experience across ceremonies such as weddings, naming ceremonies, and funerals, I’ve learned that the most meaningful ceremonies are those shaped around you – your story, your people, your beliefs, your quirks, your heart.
Weddings, Elopements & Big Scottish Love Stories
If there’s one thing I adore, it’s helping couples craft a wedding ceremony that feels like it belongs entirely to them.I create ceremonies shaped around your beliefs, values and wishes.
Whether you’re planning a grand Highland gathering, a Speyside celebration with your favourite dram, or an intimate elopement tucked into a glen, forest, cliff-top, or castle ruin, I’m here for it.
Elopements have a special place in my heart – two people choosing a moment that’s theirs alone, Scotland as the witness, and maybe a bit of wind trying to steal the show. It’s magic.
As someone who proudly wears touches of tartan whenever I can, I love celebrating the spirit, history, and humour of Scotland within my ceremonies. You bring your ideas; I bring the warmth, the guidance, the storytelling, and (if needed) a stash of emergency tissues.
And yes – because people often ask – I am fully authorised to conduct legal marriages in Scotland through Open Beliefs Scotland, recognised by the Registrar General.
Funeral & Memorial Ceremonies
My work within the funeral profession has shaped a very simple belief: every life deserves to be honoured with sincerity, dignity, and compassion.
For over twenty years, families across Scotland have trusted me to help them create heartfelt farewells – ceremonies that respect all faiths, beliefs, and wishes.
I understand that these moments are delicate, emotional, and deeply important. My role is to listen, support, and help you tell a story that truly reflects the person you love – whether that means gentle humour, quiet reflection, or a celebration of a life wonderfully lived.
It is always an honour, and never something I take lightly.
A Celebrant for All Beliefs, Faiths, Traditions & Personalities
Whether you’re planning a wedding, welcoming a new life, marking a milestone, or saying goodbye, I create ceremonies shaped with care, respect, and a genuine love for the people at their centre.
I work with all beliefs, all faiths, and all personal wishes, ensuring your ceremony feels authentic, inclusive, and unmistakably “you.”
