    Susie Ritchie‘s biography

Hello, my name is Susie, and I became a celebrant in March 2025. I’d like to share a little of my story so you understand what brought me here, and why I feel so passionate about helping families at such an important time.

In 2024, life felt full of promise. I was in a loving, happy relationship and preparing to move in with Chris, my best friend and soulmate. The day before we were due to start that new chapter, Chris suddenly and unexpectedly passed away. My world turned upside down. In the months that followed, I felt lost, heartbroken, and overwhelmed by grief. But slowly, step by step, I found a way forward. Out of that deep loss came a determination to do something meaningful with my experience — to walk alongside others in their own times of loss. That is what led me to retrain as a celebrant.

My role is to listen, to support, to guide, and above all, to honour your loved one’s life in a way that feels true to them and comforting to you. Every family, every story, every goodbye is unique. I will take the memories and moments you share and weave them into a ceremony that reflects not only the life lived, but also the love felt.

Compassion, kindness and understanding are at the heart of everything I do. My background in the hospitality industry taught me the importance of care, organisation, and attention to detail — qualities I now bring to every service I deliver. From the first conversation to the final farewell, I will be there to ensure everything runs smoothly, with warmth and professionalism.

We all carry memories of those we love. Together, let’s create a final memory that truly celebrates and honours the life of someone special

As a Fifer, this is the main Region I cover. However, I am more than happy to travel to Perth, Dundee or Edinburgh and surrounding areas.
