Helping people is what I do and is what I have done throughout my career.  I have been a police officer, a charity leader, an academic and career coach.   In all these roles I have supported people who were, often, in crisis.  My ability to remain calm in difficult situations helped me support others in experiencing challenging times.

My name is Reverend Jean Thomson and I am a  Ceremonialist and Interfaith Minister operating throughout Scotland. My aim is to create personal, meaningful, memorable ceremonies, filled with love, be that welcoming new life, entering marriage or saying a sad but fond farewell to a loved one. It is a privilege to get to know couples and families and work with them at both the happiest and saddest moments in their lives. The common thread that runs through all my ceremonies is that they are crafted with love, authentic and tailor made.

As a minister with the Open Sanctuary I am authorised by the Registrar General to conduct legal weddings anywhere in Scotland, indoors or outdoors. One of the blessings we receive as Ministers in the Open Sanctuary is when we are invited to honour key points in peoples lives by creating and delivering weddings, funerals, baby naming ceremonies  and other rites of passages.

Ceremonies are conducted according to the beliefs of the couple and the families, or none if that is the case. It is your ceremony….your way. It isn’t about me or my beliefs, so you don’t need to worry about adhering to the beliefs of the officiant.
