Secretary’s Report Summer 2023

Secretary’s Update

Since our AGM in October last year, we are delighted to welcome Naomi Keir, Gordon Smith, Diane McLeish and Pamela Dicks to our committee!

We thank Ronnie Kain for his contribution to the Committee as Treasurer. Ronnie has now resigned from the Committee.

In the meantime, we are working on making slight changes to the roles and responsibilities of SICA Committee members: a document setting these roles out has been uploaded to the members’s document section on your profile.

We have made significant progress with updating the SICA Constitution and we have reviewed and updated our Complaints Procedure and GDPR Policy.

Our current membership stands at 45 full members and 15 Associate members, which is very healthy indeed! We also continue to receive frequent enquiries about becoming a Celebrant via our Website.

Anyone making an enquiry receives a copy of the SICA Membership Application Form, the most recently published newsletter and our FAQs document. This document includes training opportunities and skill sharing which our members are willing to offer. If any of our current members have anything they would like to add to this, please email me.

An improved process of invoicing our members for annual subscription fees has proved to be very effective, and, as we make progress with our website, we are confident that it will also become more user friendly and accessible for our full members and for members of the public who are seeking a Celebrant from SICA.

Our AGM in October last year was well attended, and the presentation from Kate Clark was very interesting, relevant, and positively received: grateful thanks to Kate!

Plans for our 2023 AGM are also coming together – back at The Subud Centre in Perth, which was such a comfortable venue, great food, and well-located for our membership. Save the Date: Sunday, 22nd October, and Naomi Keir has kindly offered a CPD session on ‘Charisma’ and ‘Design Thinking’.
